Getting Fit, Being Healthy

Although my main goal is to lose weight and be skinny, I only promote healthy ways. This weight loss is not going to be temporary, it's for life.

A Few Key Tips

Here are a few key tips I’ve learned to keep you lean and fit!

1. With every meal, your first bite should be protein. It will automatically shrink your appetite.

2. Snack on fruit. But don’t eat more than one kind at once. The mix of the sugars won’t keep weight off.

3. EAT MICRONUTRIENTS. Stay away from the processed foods. Micronutrients are: nuts, beans/legumes, fruits, and vegetables. Everything else is a macronutrient.

4. Try not to eat past 6-8pm. Must you eat at night, make it only fruits or veggies.

5. When doing cardio, focus on interval training. It burns more fat rather than just running at the same pace for 30 minutes. Also try to run at an incline!

6. If you want to cleanse your system and “start over”, a 10-day juice fast is perfectly healthy!

Getting Fit: Do this, not that--- for Fat Burning

runeatblog:

  1. HIIT instead of running at a consistent pace- Interval training (such as walking alternated with jogging/jogging with sprining) is proven to burn more fat than doing cardio oriented exercise for the same amount of time at a steady pace

Homemade Almond Milk
I made almond milk last night and it was delicious! I am so excited about how easy it was and how well it turned out! I got the recipe from Oh! Nuts and changed it just a teeny bit.
First: Soak 1.5 Cups Raw Almonds in water for 2-4 hours

Second: Drain Almonds and put them in a blender with 2 cups water, 1 tsp. Vanilla and 1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup and blend until all is mixed.

Third: Add 2 more cups of water and blend completely.

Fourth: Strain milk and contents through cheesecloth or tight mesh fabric, and a strainer/colander, be patient and use a large bowl/jar.

Fifth: Grip ends of cloth and squeeze remaining milk out of the almond meal. (You can decide what to do with what solids are left over)

Sixth: Store Milk in an airtight container, refrigerate and use within a week!
